Set of panels, Francisco Capelo Collection.
Francisco Capelo Collection
17th-century tile panel with a geometric pattern known as the ‘Marvila’ design, in shades of blue, yellow, and white. Integrated into a living room wall and installed like an oil painting.
In the dining room, two 18th-century tile panels depict Indigenous peoples of South America (Brazil), occupying a prominent position at the center of the wall. These panels, now displayed independently, were originally part of a full frieze of figurative panels from the same period, flanking the sides like caryatids.
