“Carpet Pattern” Relief Tile Panel – Fred Sculpture, 2026

A relief tile panel produced in 2026 in collaboration with Portuguese artist Fred Sculpture, based on the concept of 17th-century Portuguese tile carpet patterns. The composition is based on a module that, through rotation and repetition, creates a continuous pattern, reviving the principle of the old patterned panels used to cover extensive wall surfaces in a manner similar to tapestries. In this contemporary interpretation, the traditional pattern is translated into the three-dimensional plane through relief, exploring new possibilities of rhythm, volume, light, and shadow based on the modular structure characteristic of 17th-century Portuguese tilework.
