Tile Workshop
The experience begins with a brief hands-on introduction to the Majolica technique and painting on raw glaze, during which the materials, the process, and some historical references will be explained to inspire your creation.
Afterward, you’ll have the freedom to create your own interpretation of the Portuguese tile, exploring colors, patterns, and compositions in your own style.
How It Works
- 1 Introduction Introduction to the Majolica technique and brief historical introduction to Portuguese tiles.
- 2 Start to paint You can choose between freehand painting or stencils inspired by Portuguese history and culture, from 17th-century patterns and to 18th-century designs, but also some Lisbon trams and the iconic Portuguese sardine.
- 3 Expert Guidance Support will be available throughout the activity to answer questions, help with materials or provide guidance whenever needed.
- 4 Firing and collect logistics At the end of the experience, the tiles will be kiln-fired. They can be collected in-store within 3–4 working days or shipped to your home for an additional fee from €35.
