Neoclassical Garden Panel
Cascais, a project by architect Maurício Nobrega.
,In an apartment decoration project, associated with a dining room, a tile panel from the late 18th century, a Neoclassical period, is incorporated. Yellow trellises support green vegetation and cartouches depicting a fountain and others with mythological figures on pedestals, creating an illusion of depth and symmetry.
Executed predominantly in shades of blue, green, and yellow, this panel reveals the refinement of 18th-century Portuguese tilework, with meticulous attention to ornamental details and scenographic composition. The trellises, suggesting the structure of a formal garden, contrast with the lush vegetation in the background, while the central fountain evokes both serenity and movement.
