D’Orey Tiles and Antiques participated in the 2025 edition of the Lisbon Art and Antiques Fair (LAAF), held at the iconic Cordoaria Nacional in Lisbon, from May 9 to 17.
Continuity
This participation reflected not only the continuation of a well-established tradition within the Portuguese decorative arts scene but also the gallery’s ability to combine historical rigor with aesthetic elegance.
D’Orey’s booth (number 13) was designed with curatorial care that emphasized the showcasing of the exhibited pieces, allowing visitors an intimate encounter with rare and emblematic works of Portuguese tilework from the 15th to the 20th century.

Highlights
The Camellia Panel, with its meticulously outlined floral composition and the rich chromatic palette of green, yellow, and manganese, evokes a symbolism of renewal and ephemeral beauty, themes commonly found in Mannerist decorative repertoire.
Meanwhile, the Bird Panel stands out for its rarity, showcasing the colors traditionally used during that period—blue, yellow, and white—as well as its allusion to symbols of early Christianity in the form of amphorae and vessels, objects associated with the Passion of Christ.
celebration of the History of Portuguese Art
D’Orey Tiles and Antiques’ participation in LAAF 2025 was not only a showcase of artistic excellence but also a significant contribution to the dialogue on the appreciation of historical and artistic heritage.
The fair provided an environment for exchange and reflection among professionals in the field, where the gallery stood out for the quality of its offerings and the authenticity of its collection. More than just an exhibition, D’Orey’s presence at the Cordoaria Nacional was a celebration of the history of Portuguese art — a space where tradition and innovation came together in perfect harmony.
