“Granada” Pattern Tile Panel, Bordalo Pinheiro

Tiles using the cuerda seca technique, in a panel that reproduces a Hispano-Moorish pattern from the late 15th century.

This tile pattern was used on the exterior walls of the sales pavilion of the Caldas da Rainha Factory, in the decoration of the entrance hall of the Portugal Pavilion at the 1889 Universal Exposition in Paris.
